The Saturn variety tree is characterized by its large size, reaching a height of 9 to 12 meters, and has a broad crown approximately 8–10 meters wide. The plant has dark gray, deeply fissured bark and complex, odd-pinnate, dark green leaves that emit an aroma when crushed.

The variety is characterized by good winter hardiness and prefers sunny or semi-shaded areas with fertile, permeable, and calcareous soils. The fruits have an oval shape and green-brown coloration; the tree is used as a fruit crop, as well as in landscape gardening.
