The tree is compact and reaches a height of 2–3 to 4–5 meters. Fruiting occurs both on apical and lateral buds, with nuts often forming in clusters of 4–6 or more per bunch.

The fruits have a diameter of 5–6 cm and a weight of 8–14 g. The shell is thin, easily cracked, and the kernel yield is 49–65%. The tree possesses high winter hardiness down to -35 °C, although it may be affected by Marssonina during rainy periods.

The plant requires the formation of male inflorescences for pollination, which occurs several years after the start of development. Due to intensive fruiting, the tree requires regular fertilization.
