The variety «Srednogorski» was developed by researchers from the Fruit Growing Institute in Plovdiv. The variety is intended for practical implementation in production and is considered an object of specialized breeding, the description of which is rarely found in general reference books.

Scientific literature notes that modern Bulgarian varieties, including «Srednogorski», are characterized by moderate tree vigor and a late flowering period to protect against spring frosts. They are typical for their lateral bearing type, high yield, light kernel color, and resistance to anthracnose and bacterial blight.
