Targo trees have low to medium vigor. Young plants form a compact canopy, which becomes more spreading or spherical in mature specimens. The nuts ripen in the second half of September, usually around the 10th.

The nuts are oval-shaped and medium-sized. The shell is light brown, of medium thickness, with shallow grooves. The large kernel is easily extracted from the shell and is suitable for both direct consumption and processing. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and medium resistance to anthracnose.

The variety is characterized by dichogamy, where female flowers may bloom later than male ones, therefore planting pollinator varieties is recommended to ensure stable fruit production.
