The variety was obtained by selection from local Hungarian walnut stock. The plant is distinguished by relatively low vigor. The variety is known for high winter hardiness, while showing moderate susceptibility to walnut blight.

The fruits are of medium-late maturity (end of September), medium to large in size (32–34 mm) with a slightly furrowed shell that splits easily. The kernel is easy to clean, and the variety is valued for the possibility of obtaining a whole kernel during processing.
