Absolon RZ belongs to the butterhead lettuce type of the Salanova line, which is characterized by the production of a large number of small leaves with a single cut at the base of the head. The variety is suitable for cultivation in hydroponic conditions with high planting density and is suitable for year-round production.
The plant possesses Knox technology, ensuring delayed oxidation of leaf sap after cutting, which increases the shelf life of the produce. The variety is characterized by high resistance to downy mildew (races Bl:29–37, 39–41EU) and currant-lettuce aphid (Nr:0), and also exhibits intermediate resistance to Fusarium wilt (Fol:1).
