The variety is a butterhead lettuce (Butterhead) obtained through selection from the variety Viktoria. The plant forms a small spherical head, sometimes slightly flat on top. The leaves are tender, without anthocyanin coloration, have a yellow-green hue and a distinct midrib. The seeds are white.
The plant has a late tendency to bolt, but has historically shown sensitivity to tipburn. In phytopathology, the variety is known as a carrier of the Dm1 resistance gene to downy mildew (Bremia lactucae), which makes it a significant tool for testing pathogens.
