The plant is an intermediate variant between the Bibb and romaine types: at the beginning of growth, it resembles a butterhead lettuce, but as it develops, it forms a dense vertical head. The mature plant reaches a height of about 20 cm and has dark green, slightly wrinkled leaves.
The variety is fast-growing: the maturity period is about 54 days, with the possibility of harvesting at the baby-leaf stage after 28 days. The leaves are tender, with thin petioles and a sweet taste without bitterness; the inner part of the head blanches upon maturation.
The plant is characterized by tolerance to adverse weather conditions, including cold and heat. Suitable for cultivation both in the open field and in protected conditions.
