The variety belongs to the butterhead lettuce type (Laitue beurre) and is characterized by a reddish hue of the leaves. The plant forms very dense heads; the leaves are distinguished by a fleshy texture, crunch, and a light nutty flavor.
The variety is suitable for garden cultivation in the period from February to September. The plant possesses resistance to powdery mildew, lettuce mosaic virus (IR), the aphid Nasonovia ribisnigri (race 0), and downy mildew (Bremia lactucae, races 29–33).
The variety is intended for the fresh produce market and fresh consumption as an individual dish or as part of salad mixes.
