The plant forms a vigorous, large rosette with intense wine-red smooth leaves that have a strong gloss. The plant type is open, the leaf posture is semi-erect, and the growth rate is moderate.
The variety belongs to the long-day group and is slow to bolt. The leaves are firm, which facilitates packing and transportation. The crop is resistant to downy mildew (isolates Bl:16–36EU) and tip burn, but is susceptible to lettuce mosaic virus and the aphid Nasonovia ribisnigri.
