The variety belongs to the butterhead lettuce type. It was intended for cultivation in protected soil and was characterized by adaptation to low light conditions during winter cultivation.
In the mid-1970s, the R11 resistance factor to downy mildew was introduced into the variety's genotype. In agronomic studies of the 1980s–90s, the variety frequently served as a model object in the study of nitrate accumulation processes under hydroponic production conditions.
