The variety belongs to the oak-leaf lettuce group (Eichblatt). It is characterized by deeply curled, thick leaves of a dark red color.
The plant possesses high resistance to downy mildew (races Bl:29–40EU) and Fusarium wilt (Fol:1). The variety is suitable for cultivation throughout all periods of the year.
It is used as a professional variety for produce cultivation, including in the baby-leaf segment. It is also used in controlled environment agriculture research under artificial lighting.
