The plant forms medium-green leaves with a reddish tint along the edges. The variety is characterized by a dense leaf structure, while the firm veins allow it to be used not only fresh but also for culinary processing, including baking.

The variety is intended for open field cultivation from early summer to autumn. In European catalogs, the variety is also found under the synonym "Romaine à Deux Coeurs".
