The Tamago variety belongs to the mini-cos type and forms neat upright rosettes. The leaves are narrow, dark green in color, with prominent crispy midribs. The plant is suitable for cultivation in open field and protected cultivation, and allows for whole-plant harvest or cutting of individual leaves.
The plant possesses high resistance to downy mildew (races 29–40), Fusarium wilt (race 1), and leaf tip burn. It has intermediate resistance to lettuce mosaic virus and very high bolting resistance.
