The variety belongs to the iceberg type and is characterized by large plant and leaf rosette sizes. The head has a dense, regular round shape with a wide, flat base. The leaves are large, thick, dull green in color with smooth ribs and a relatively soft texture. The seeds are black.
It is a late-maturing variety with a head formation period of 110–120 days. It possesses high resistance to lettuce mosaic virus, as well as to tipburn and bolting. It exhibits tolerance to heat and frost, while being susceptible to some strains of downy mildew.
The variety is adapted for industrial cultivation primarily in desert region conditions. Historically, it has often been used as a parental form in the breeding of new commercial varieties.
