The plant is a shrub with a spreading crown shape and upright rigid shoots, reaching a height of 2 to 4 meters. A distinctive feature of the variety is its dark, almost black or dark purple foliage, which acquires yellow or orange shades in autumn.

Flowering occurs during the summer period, from June to September. The flowers are large, double, bright red in color, collected in paniculate inflorescences at the tips of the shoots. The variety is heat-loving, withstands short-term frosts down to -18 °C, and is adapted to USDA zone 7a.
