The plant is a deciduous shrub or small tree with a dense rounded crown 1.5 to 3 meters in height. A distinctive feature of the variety is its dark, almost black foliage, which has a bronze-burgundy hue on young shoots and turns orange or red tones in the autumn.
The flowers are pure white, gathered in large paniculate inflorescences. The buds have a dark red hue. The variety is characterized by abundant, prolonged flowering from summer to autumn; repeated flowering is possible if spent inflorescences are removed.
The plant is resistant to powdery mildew and suitable for USDA hardiness zones 7–10.
