The variety was bred through creative selection based on old Polish samples. The plant possesses high adaptability to climatic conditions and is suitable both for pure sowing and for cultivation in mixed stands with cereal crops, such as barley or oats.

The seeds contain antinutritional factors, including the neurotoxin β-ODAP. Derivatives of p-coumaric acid dominate the composition of phenolic compounds in the variety. The variety is considered a promising raw material for the food industry and for feed purposes.
