The Krab variety is one of the first Polish grass pea varieties bred from local landraces. The plant possesses adaptability to local climatic conditions, high drought tolerance, and the ability to grow on poor soils due to a developed root system.

The seeds of the variety contain proteins and mineral substances. In agricultural and scientific research, the variety is characterized as having good yield potential and often serves as a reference when evaluating the content of antinutritional factors, such as the neurotoxin β-ODAP and trypsin inhibitors.
