The plant is a dense, profusely branched shrub with an upright, slightly spreading crown habit, reaching 20–35 cm in height. The leaves are linear, aromatic, and grey-green in color.

The purple-violet flowers are gathered in dense spike-like inflorescences. A characteristic feature is the striking bright pink or light violet-pink bracts at the tops of the inflorescences.

The variety is intended for cultivation in containers, borders, rock gardens, and mixed borders. It requires a sunny location and well-drained soil, exhibits frost resistance, yet does not tolerate severe winters.
