The plant is a slow-growing evergreen shrub with a compact and spreading habit, reaching a height of 0.5 to 1 m. The variety is a natural mutation of the cultivar «Zeblid» (Scarletta).
The main decorative feature is the leaves: young ones have a reddish hue with a creamy-white margin, mature ones become green with the same margin, and in autumn they color in more saturated pink and red tones. White flowers are collected in racemes, but are formed in small quantities.
The plant has winter hardiness down to -20 °C (USDA zone 6b). It prefers acidic, humus-rich, moderately moist soils and placement in partial shade or shade. Suitable for cultivation in containers, heather gardens, and flower beds.
