Variety description

The plant reaches a height of 30–60 cm and a width of 50–90 cm. It blooms in May-June with small white bell-shaped flowers gathered in drooping racemes. The variety is a mutation of Leucothoe axillaris «Scarletta» and exhibits high foliage ornamental value throughout the season.

The variety is winter hardy down to -20 °C, prefers acidic, humous, well-drained soils. It develops better in partial shade or shade, while requiring protection from drying out. All parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested.
