The plant reaches a height of 30 to 60 cm. The stems are thin, branching, and covered with narrow gray-green leaves. The flowers are large, 3–5 cm in diameter, and have five petals of a carmine-red shade.

The variety is a light-loving, cold-resistant, and drought-tolerant plant. Flowering begins in June and continues until autumn frosts.

It is used exclusively in decorative gardening for landscaping flower beds, borders, and as a cut flower crop. The variety has no industrial significance as a source of fiber or oil.
