The oil flax variety Ametyst was developed at the Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute (IHAR) in Poland. For ten years, the variety was officially included in the country's national register of varieties.
In scientific literature, the variety is mentioned to a limited extent in the context of research on the chemical composition of seeds as an object for comparison.
