The variety was bred at the Research Institute for Cereals and Industrial Crops in Fundulea with the participation of breeder Florea Popescu. Work on creating the variety was conducted in the late 1990s with the aim of improving the adaptive qualities of the crop.

Detailed morphological descriptions of the plant, such as height or maturity group, are absent in open sources. Information about this variety is mainly limited to mentions within the framework of breeding programs of the Romanian institute.
