The Liviola variety was created for the production of short fiber for technical purposes while simultaneously obtaining a high seed yield. It represents an example of the dual-purpose flax concept.

The plant possesses good resistance to lodging, surpassing a number of varieties from the same period in this indicator. The variety is included in European agricultural plant catalogs and is mentioned in studies of flax genetic diversity.
