The Saskia variety is used as an object for laboratory experiments, including the study of tissue regenerative capacity and mechanisms of resistance to pathogens. A number of studies note the ability of this variety to withstand Fusarium wilt caused by the fungus Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lini.

Data on the agronomic characteristics of the variety, such as maturity dates, stem height, or quantitative yield indicators, are absent in open publications. The variety is considered primarily as initial genetic material for comparative analysis in biological studies.
