The plant forms dense mats 60–90 cm wide. Foliage is dark green, lanceolate, and pubescent. Funnel-shaped flowers bloom from spring to early summer.
The variety prefers full sun or partial shade and well-drained acidic soils. In hot climates, shading is required during daylight hours. The plant is resistant to rabbits and deer; it is susceptible to blackleg in cases of excessive moisture.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
