The MONASMO variety is used as a forage crop. Studies conducted in Galicia (Spain) showed that this variety differs from other samples by more intensive development in winter and earlier dates for the resumption of vegetation in spring.

Available publications record a high crude protein content in the plant biomass of this variety. Detailed data on morphological traits, such as plant height or resistance to lodging and diseases, are not presented in open sources.
