The Hellen variety is a tetraploid annual grass that does not require vernalization to flower in the year of sowing. The plant is distinguished by a high regrowth rate, a strong stem and an excellent leaf-to-stem ratio in the biomass.

The variety has good resistance to rust and Fusarium. Due to its well-developed root system, the variety is suitable for improving soil structure, while high green mass yield is combined with high palatability and nutritional value of the forage.
