The variety is an annual form characterized by rapid growth and intensive biomass accumulation. It is used to obtain high-quality fodder, including green mass and silage, which possess good digestibility and a high sugar content.
The variety belongs to the pasture-forage type. It is intended for the establishment of intensive short-term forage lands, as well as for use as an intermediate crop in aftermath or stubble sowings.
During genetic studies using the isoenzyme locus analysis method for Got 3 and Pgi 2, the identity of the genetic profile of the Kasjana variety with the Polish variety Kaja was established.
