Licherry is a diploid variety of Westerwold ryegrass. It is characterized by very rapid development after sowing and high regrowth intensity, which is typical for this annual variety of Italian ryegrass.
The variety is used in agriculture to create fast-growing forage stands for hay or silage, as well as an intermediate crop. It is used in forage mixtures to obtain a yield in the year of sowing.
