The variety is a tetraploid, which ensures wider leaves and increased nutritional value of the biomass. The plant is characterized by high digestibility and leaf tenderness, demonstrating moderate resistance to diseases such as rust and powdery mildew.

Baqueano is distinguished by rapid rooting and the ability to actively develop until the flowering phase with a marked emphasis on the first cut. The variety is suitable for intensive field forage production, including multiple mowing, and sowing after the harvest of cereal crops.
