The Barverdi variety is a diploid form of Italian ryegrass (also known as Lolium multiflorum). The crop is used as a forage plant for producing silage and dry matter, and is also included in grass mixtures for the rapid establishment of vegetative cover.
The variety has repeatedly been the subject of field research and scientific trials, during which quality indicators of the produce were studied, including the content of water-soluble carbohydrates, total nitrogen, nitrates, and dry matter, depending on cultivation conditions and fertilizer application levels.
