Zarastro is a diploid variety with high overall productivity, particularly pronounced during the summer period. The variety possesses a strong ability for regeneration (regrowth) after mowing and forms a dense stand that prevents weed development.

The plant demonstrates high resistance to rust and bacterial wilt, which contributes to maintaining forage quality. It is characterized by good winter hardiness and suitability for establishing forage land with a 1–2 year usage cycle, as well as for inclusion in grass mixtures.
