The variety is intended for use at sports facilities where high resistance to stress and the maintenance of a high-quality visual appearance are required at a mowing height of about 25 mm. Barsandra possesses high germination energy and ensures the rapid formation of a dense stand.

As a turf variety, Barsandra differs from forage varieties in its lower growth and high tiller density. The characterization of the variety takes into account such parameters as leaf fineness and resistance to diseases, in particular to red thread (Laetisaria fuciformis).
