The variety «Black Stallion» (experimental designation PPG-PR 551) is a turf grass with a fine leaf texture and a very dark green color. The plant is characterized by rapid rooting and the ability to form a dense sod suitable for mowing at low heights starting from 1.27 cm.

This variety possesses excellent resistance to leaf spot (Drechslera siccans) and good adaptability to various soils and light conditions from full sun to partial shade. The variety has a medium maturity period and exhibits high winter hardiness.

The genealogy of the variety includes parent lines BigLeague, Newgreen, and Blackstone. Its primary purpose includes professional landscaping of sports facilities, use on golf course fairways, as well as overseeding of existing lawns.
