The variety is tetraploid, obtained by doubling the chromosome number of the parent forms, which included "Irish Commercial", "New Zealand Selection", "Otofte" and "Viris". Breeding involved selection of ten maternal plants and their subsequent polycross.

The plant belongs to early types with a heading date in mid-May. Morphologically, the variety is distinguished by dark long leaves. It shows high productivity in the summer and autumn periods, consistently ensuring high dry matter production indices.
