Honroso belongs to diploid varieties of perennial ryegrass and is characterized as late-heading. The plant has average indicators of height and growth rates at the initial stages of development, as well as average resistance to lodging and rust.

The variety is used as a component for long-term pastures and forage swards, demonstrating good palatability, suitability for frequent grazing and mowing. In studies, the variety shows high crude protein content and stable fermentation indicators during ensiling; its potential for bioenergy purposes is also being studied.
