The variety is a tetraploid form (4n) of perennial ryegrass, belonging to the early maturity group. It was developed for forage purposes and is characterized by good digestibility.

The plant has agricultural value when used in hay-pasture lands. During breeding trials, the variety was tested for resistance to pathogens, including rust.
