The variety is a tetraploid representative of perennial ryegrass. In scientific publications, it is mentioned in the context of breeding programs and the study of forage crops.

In comparative trials, the variety was noted as susceptible to crown rust. In international UPOV protocols, it is used as a reference sample for assessing morphological traits, including the length of the basal spikelet.
