The variety «Nikolin» is classified as perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) and belongs to diploid forms. In agronomic registers, it is intended for lawn use and is included in the lists of grasses suitable for the formation of sports and ornamental cover.

In official documentation, the variety appeared in lawn grass trials in Denmark and Germany in the 2000s and 2010s. In the Danish variety trials, it was tested under the breeding number DP 17-9112.
