The Pleno variety was officially included in the European Community seed variety lists in the 1970s. In the regulatory documents of that period, it was classified by longevity and maturity traits, while detailed morphological descriptions or disease resistance indicators for it were not recorded.
As a representative of the species Lolium perenne, the variety has a bunch-type growth habit, narrow smooth leaves with a shiny underside, a high germination rate, and the ability to form a dense sod. At present, the variety is considered obsolete and is absent from current seed catalogs.
