The SW Birger variety (breeding number SW ER8744) belongs to the tetraploid group (4n) and is medium-late in maturity. It is intended for the formation of swards used both for animal grazing and for subsequent mowing and silage harvesting.

The plant possesses high endurance, allowing it to maintain productivity over several years of use. One of the key characteristics of the variety is its ability to regrow intensively after mowing. In agronomic trials, the variety is often used as a control sample due to its stability and adaptation to the conditions of the Baltic countries and Northern Europe.
