The Veja variety was developed through mass selection. The plant reaches a height of 60–85 cm and has a leaf mass proportion of about 42.75%. Dry matter yield is 5–8 t/ha, seed yield is 400–700 kg/ha. The protein content in dry matter reaches 11.98%.

The plant is distinguished by its ability to provide up to 3 cuts or 4–5 grazing cycles per growing season. Under current conditions, the variety is more frequently used as genetic material for scientific research.
