The variety is diploid. It is characterized by high tiller density and finer leaves compared to tetraploid varieties.

The variety is suitable for establishing pastures, hay production, and forming grass stands. The plant possesses high nutritional value, good leafiness, and the ability to regrow quickly after mowing or grazing.

In breeding programs, the variety was used as a parental form in crosses with meadow fescue to obtain festulolium hybrids due to its resistance to abiotic stresses and its ability to produce high yields of seeds and dry matter.
