The Manru variety possesses limited vegetative growth and is devoid of lateral branching due to the presence of the restricted branching (rb) gene. Given its specific morphology, the variety is intended exclusively for grain cultivation and is not suitable for green mass production.
The variety is characterized as early and uniformly maturing, with a growing season 10–11 days shorter than similar varieties. Manru is sensitive to sowing dates: a two-week delay in sowing can reduce seed yield by up to 30%.
The genetic basis of the variety, obtained using the restricted branching mutation, makes it suitable for cultivation in conditions of a short growing season and increased humidity.
