Variety description

The plant is a compact evergreen shrub. Its soft leaves are devoid of thorns characteristic of many other Mahonia species, and in appearance they resemble bamboo or a fern. The height of the bush is about 0.8–1 meter.
Flowering occurs in autumn, in the period from August to October, accompanied by the appearance of fragrant yellow inflorescences. After flowering is complete, silver-blue berries form on the plant.
The shrub is intended for ornamental use and is suitable for growing in containers, landscaping modern gardens, and planting in shaded areas. The plant is demanding regarding soil quality, preferring well-drained and moderately fertile sites.
