Fruits are medium-sized, round in shape. The primary skin color is greenish-yellow, complemented by a dark red blush on the sunny side and a pattern of darker stripes. The flesh varies from white to pale greenish, has a fine-grained texture, and a sweet taste.
The tree has moderate growth vigor and an open crown; flowering occurs in mid to mid-early periods. The variety is diploid and self-incompatible, requires pollinator varieties, and belongs to pollination group D. Fruits are intended for fresh consumption and can be stored in a refrigerator for up to four months.
The variety has been documented since 1872 and is known as a local autochthonous variety in the Italian region of Piedmont. It has many historical synonyms, including Saint Bauzin, Saint Bauzon, and Reinette Fouettee.
