The variety was obtained by selection from open-pollinated seedlings of the Gascoyne's Scarlet variety. The tree has vigorous, intensive growth with an upright or slightly spreading crown prone to thickening, which requires regular training and summer pruning. The variety develops best in warm and medium climatic zones on moist, fertile soils.

The fruit is large or very large, round-shaped with smooth green-yellow skin and a red blush. The flesh is cream-colored, juicy, of medium density, and possesses a distinct aroma. The harvest is gathered at the end of September; consumer maturity of the fruit occurs in November. The variety shows tolerance to apple scab and medium resistance to powdery mildew.
